3 Reasons Why You Need a Squarespace SEO Specialist
You’re Being Told To Rebuild Before Any Proper Checks
Ask about SEO and everyone immediately tries to sell you a platform such as WordPress, Shopify, or something “more scalable.” Save the migration for later. What you actually need right now are better pages and a strategy that works with the setup you already have.
Your Site Looks Finished But Feels Invisible
A beautiful website doesn’t pay the bills. If your branding is flawless but your inbox is a ghost town and bookings are stagnant, your expensive digital storefront is just sitting there, completely invisible to your target market.
You’re Booked Some Weeks And Ghosted The Next
One week feels busy enough to justify a smug little coffee. The next, enquiries drop off and the calendar starts looking personally rude. Referrals and socials can be streaky. Search should help smooth the gaps, so your pipeline isn’t living entirely on vibes and lucky timing.
Our Squarespace SEO Services
Technical, Links And Content Built For
Squarespace Sites
Squarespace SEO is not about bullying a small site into acting like a giant CMS. It’s about knowing where the platform gives you control,
where it needs a workaround and where better authority and structure can do more than a rebuild ever would.
OMG applies our TLC Framework across the full setup: Technical, Links and Content.
Technical Squarespace SEO
We review the platform settings and search fundamentals that affect visibility: sitemap, robots.txt, canonical tags, URL slugs, 301 redirects through URL Mappings, Core Web Vitals, page speed, schema markup, indexation and Google Search Console data.
On-Page SEO & Content
We sharpen metas, SEO descriptions, headings, internal links, alt text, service pages, location pages, blog content and calls to action, so your site attracts better traffic and conversions.
Squarespace 7.1 SEO
Squarespace 7.1 gives site owners more room to work than the old platform reputation suggests. We review Fluid Engine layouts, custom URL slugs, native schema, page descriptions, site descriptions and content structure so the newer setup is helping search, not just looking tidy.
Squarespace Commerce SEO
For small eCommerce sites, we review product and collection pages, metadata, images, internal links and conversion paths, so your store can attract more buyers without losing its boutique feel.
Squarespace Blog SEO
Our content team shapes topics, structure, headings and internal links around the services, products or locations that drive revenue.
Generative Engine Optimisation
We help improve the content clarity, structure, schema, authority and answer depth your site needs to be easier to understand, cite and trust.
Your Squarespace site isn’t too small for SEO
Our Process
How Our Squarespace SEO Service Works
Squarespace SEO can get messy when advice swings between “just follow the checklist” and “burn it down, start again”.
OMG takes the calmer route. We review what the site can already do and which fixes are most likely to bring more results.
We review your Squarespace setup across technical SEO, sitemap, robots.txt, canonical tags, URL slugs, URL Mappings, Core Web Vitals, page speed, schema markup, Google Search Console, GA4 and organic traffic performance.
We look at what is holding back visibility across service pages, location pages, blog content, Commerce pages, internal links, metadata, alt text, Google Business Profile signals, backlinks and conversion paths.
You get a clear action plan ranked by impact, effort and commercial value. Some fixes can happen inside Squarespace. Some may need content, links or tracking work. And if the platform is genuinely holding you back, we’ll say that too.

Squarespace SEO Service FAQs
Here are the questions we hear from SMBs trying to get more search value from the site they already have.
No. Squarespace isn’t automatically bad for SEO, and anyone still saying that like it’s 2016 needs a lie-down. Modern Squarespace gives you solid control over page titles, descriptions, URL slugs, redirects, image alt text, sitemaps and schema. The catch is that a tidy platform doesn’t replace strong content, local signals, backlinks, page speed and conversion thinking. Squarespace can rank. It just still needs proper work.
Squarespace 7.1 is the current platform version and generally gives site owners a cleaner, more flexible foundation to work from. It uses newer editing and layout systems, including Fluid Engine, and tends to be easier to manage at scale than older 7.0 templates. The SEO basics are similar, but 7.1 usually gives you a better runway for structure and long-term improvements. Less vintage charm. More useful control.
Squarespace SEO cost depends on your site size, competition, location targets, content needs and how much technical or local SEO work is required. A five-page coaching site is not the same job as a Squarespace Commerce store with products, blogs, locations and a booking flow doing three jobs in a trench coat. The audit comes first, so you know what is worth fixing before committing to ongoing work.
Some agencies don’t like Squarespace because it offers less technical freedom than platforms like WordPress, Shopify or custom builds. Some simply do not know the platform well enough. Others would rather sell a rebuild because that is easier than giving a nuanced answer. Squarespace has limits, absolutely. But refusing it on sight is lazy.
Yes, depending on the market, site quality and business model. A strong Squarespace site can absolutely compete for service, local, creative, hospitality and small eCommerce searches. WordPress may offer more flexibility for content-heavy sites. Shopify may suit larger eCommerce operations better. But rankings are not awarded based on CMS choice. They come from relevance, authority, technical health and usefulness.
Not automatically. Migration makes sense when Squarespace is genuinely limiting content scale, eCommerce growth, technical control or operational needs. It doesn’t make sense because someone got bored in a meeting and said “WordPress”. We usually recommend auditing the current site first. Sometimes Squarespace has plenty of room left. Sometimes the smarter move is planning a careful migration before the ceiling gets too low.
Yes. Squarespace sites can connect with Google Search Console and GA4, and that setup is important if you want real visibility into traffic, queries, landing pages, conversions and user behaviour. Without that data, SEO starts feeling like checking the weather by licking your finger and hoping for strategy.
Yes, they can, but no agency can guarantee citations in AI Overviews, ChatGPT or Perplexity. What we can do is improve the signals that make your site easier to understand and trust: clear service pages, useful answers, structured content, schema, authority, local consistency and strong brand information across the web.
