Email Marketing That Has to Prove Its Value
Email performance should be judged by more than what gets sent. We look at engagement, attributed revenue and other measurable outcomes
across campaigns and automated flows.

Want to Know What’s Holding Your Email Marketing Back?
How It Works
Four Stages Connecting Email Strategy and Execution
We don’t treat EDM as a string of isolated sends or a quick win. Email is a long game, with strategy, creative, automation and measurement working together over time. Each stage helps inform what comes next, so the program can keep improving as more data comes in.
We start by defining your goals, audience segments and content priorities. From there, we shape a three-month calendar around your business objectives so every campaign has a clear audience, message and role before production begins.
Next comes the copy and creative. Our team develops strategy-led messaging and branded email design around the customer journey, with Rysen bringing dedicated UX/UI and design capability to the templates. Where your plan includes A/B testing, Builder and Leader can test subject lines, while Leader can also test body content.
We put the right logic behind the sends. Setup covers the architecture for flows such as New Customer Welcome, Post-Purchase Nurture, Enquiry Nurture and Subscribers Win-Back, while Monthly Email Creation develops the emails used within those flows.
Once emails are live, the data shapes what happens next. EDM is a long-term channel, so we monitor engagement, revenue, list health and flow performance across successive sends. Those insights help us refine future content, segmentation and automation, with monthly reviews and a formal three-month calendar refresh each quarter.

FAQs
EDM stands for Electronic Direct Mail and is commonly used interchangeably with email marketing. At OMG, we use EDM marketing to describe a structured approach that brings together strategy, audience segmentation, branded templates, automated flows, ongoing email content and reporting. It’s more than sending the occasional promotion. We’re building an owned channel that helps you stay relevant to your audience and strengthen customer relationships over time.
The cost depends on what your email program actually needs. You might need the foundations built, an existing program audited or ongoing content created and managed. We structure these as separate Setup, EDM Audit and Monthly Email Creation products, with tiers based on scope. Regulated industries also require an additional compliance review layer. As your email marketing agency, we’ll recommend an appropriate scope rather than bundle in work you don’t need. Platform subscriptions are billed separately by the provider.
Early changes can show up in areas such as tracking quality or list health, depending on what needs addressing. Broader performance trends from segmentation, automated flows and content optimisation typically need more time and data to assess. That’s why our Monthly Email Creation service has a minimum six-month engagement. Email performance develops across successive sends, so one campaign or one month rarely gives you the full picture.
They do different jobs. Setup builds the foundations, including platform configuration, list import, branded templates, segmentation architecture, automation flow architecture and a three-month content calendar. Monthly Email Creation then provides the strategy-led copy, design and deployment that runs through that infrastructure. Keeping them separate means your recurring engagement stays focused on creating, sending and refining email content instead of absorbing the cost of one-off implementation work.
Only if you already have email activity worth reviewing. Our EDM Audit is designed for businesses with an existing list, regular sends or an established platform. We assess performance, gaps, deliverability and opportunities before recommending what should happen next. If you’re starting from scratch, there may be limited campaign history for an EDM Audit to assess. You can move straight into Setup, where we’ll build the foundations your email program needs from the outset.
No. More emails don’t automatically mean more revenue. Sending too often or without meaningful segmentation can contribute to list fatigue, unsubscribes and declining engagement. What matters more is sending relevant content to the right people at an appropriate cadence. We’d rather support long-term list health than chase short-term volume, then use performance data to guide how often, when and what you send.
No. Inbox placement can’t be guaranteed by any provider. Deliverability is influenced by authentication, list hygiene, sender reputation, subscriber engagement and sending behaviour, including factors no agency can completely control. We follow best-practice authentication and sending processes designed to support healthy deliverability, then monitor for signs that your list or sending patterns need attention. Our focus is on sound sending practices and healthy account setup, not promises the channel can’t support.
Email can deliver substantial commercial value over time. According to Litmus’ 2025 State of Email research, 35% of marketing leaders reported returns of between $10 and $36 for every $1 spent on email marketing, while 30% reported returns of $36 to $50.
Depending on the tracking available, we can measure clicks, conversions, revenue by campaign and automated flow, list growth, churn, engagement trends and unsubscribe rates. We can also compare performance against relevant industry benchmarks. Where eCommerce tracking allows, we can report revenue attributed to email activity within the available tracking setup, giving us a clearer basis for future campaign, segmentation and automation decisions.
Yes. We work with regulated sectors including healthcare, dental, cosmetic, financial services, legal and cannabis businesses. These engagements include an additional compliance review layer covering claims checking, sign-off workflows and applicable advertising requirements, including relevant AHPRA and TGA requirements for Australian healthcare. It adds governance to the content review process, but it isn’t legal advice. We recommend having your own legal counsel review higher-risk claims where appropriate.
We work with Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign and equivalent platforms based on your existing setup and what the program requires. Depending on your Setup tier, we can handle platform configuration and list import alongside segmentation, branded templates and automation architecture. Platform and tool subscriptions aren’t included in our service fees, so those costs are billed directly to you by the relevant software provider.
